Simone Drake, Phd, MSL

Welcome! I am Dr. Simone Drake, an educator, author, film producer, digital creator, visual artist, breast cancer survivor, and always so Pretty in Pink and Gorgeous in Green.

Through Prism & Prose, LLC, I offer creative wellness activities grounded in principles of Black women artists’ and scholars’ creative philosophies. I am excited to work with groups and individuals to make space to create, elevate, and be. My goal is for the creative wellness spaces I curate to extend a culture and practice of grace that shapes the lives of participants long after our interactions end.

Outside of my professional work as a professor and consultant, I am married to my best friend since 9th grade, and we are parents to three sons, two fur babies of our own, and one grand-fur baby. I practice creating visual art, yoga, and a variety of movement practices. I also enjoy lap swimming every spring but by summer, I have fallen off the wagon.
